Since Fall of 2011 I have been over in the Android universe with a series of pads / tablets using Android versions between 1.5 and 4.1.  I moved there because of a computer crash in the fall of 2010 that wiped out my system and the 1t USB external drive with my collection of Comics, SF, OTR, and Fan material.  With the Android 4.1 units I had kinda been limping along updating the site from time to time.  In the fullness of time ( and a new 10″ Android 4.4 unit with USB keyboard that I bought in April ) I find I can actually do some of the things that  I would like to be doing  so have been expanding the site and some of it’s content.

 

 

The site was created  in 200909 to work on some ideas that I that I had to organize the data and material I was collecting from various Old Time Radio, SF and  Comics sites – Mainly Boutje’s Comics World with it’s rather quant structure.  That led to the Comics World Consolidated Link List and other utilities to keep track of the ever growing collection of my Items of Interest.  Some of those xBasic programs and the data extracted by 7-zip can be found on the left side of the page.

 

 

There will be Comics, SF, OTR, Fandom, and other links that strike my fancy on the right side of the main body and share lists ( from myself and others should they like to contribute ), xBasic programs and consolidated link-lists to be found on the left.  Burbank’s Spinner Rack (a private list-serve at  https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/B_Spinner_Rack/info. You can request access to the list-serve from the site or by emailing me at B_Spinner_Rack-owner@yahoogroups.com ) has been set up for extended discussion rather than having them being conducted in the comments area.  Both the List-Serve and this site are set up to discourage harvesting by web-crawlers so Please Do Not Post the URLs in Public (unsecure) areas.

A couple of years ago I staked out this bit of cyberspace to test various ideas that I was proposing to Boutje like the ComicsWorld Sorted Link List. Once we hammered out what we wanted it kinda languished. With the recent loss (again) of the Comics Vault and changes being forced upon other established sites it looks like it may be time to dust off the old girl and see if a critical mass can be found.

This is The Spinner Rack. Mainly a toy to learn what the HEdouble hockey sticks I am doing. If you are looking to Download Comic Books in Mass I suggest Boutje’s ComicsWorld or any of the other fine sites that you will find in the Links area.

One of the main reasons that I established this site was to test some of my hobby programing efforts rather than continuing to test some of my off topic ideas on Boutje’s site. There is a page named UTILITIES that will have programs written in xBasic and Batch files for use with the 7-zip stand alone module. While I am not interested in re-inventing the wheel I do like to understand why/how things work. If you share this quark then please visit and kick around some ideas.

There will be single issue links for fills on Dated pages off this main page. Like any other Spinner Rack the comics on a page will be for a given date rather than by title. (Yea I know I march to a different drummer) You will also find SF, Pulps, Old Time Radio Shows, E-books, Movie Serials, Cartoons, and anything else that might strike my fancy.
